In the coming weeks, we will be releasing new data for Canada, and updating existing databases. AGS now boasts more than 2,800 variables for Canada data in partnership with Exceed Analysis in Canada. Below is a summary of what you can expect for this update.
Overall, we have more than doubled the number of variables being estimated for the current year data for all databases. In line with the release of the 2021 Canada Census, the data has been updated to the 2021 geographic base, and the results of the 2021 Census are integrated into the current estimates and projections. Also added into the data are new variables on population by age/sex and income projections. Five Canada Demographic databases are now available: Demographics, Consumer Spending, Wealth, CrimeRisk and Panorama CanAm. Below are maps that feature some of the new data that we will have available.
Since we added Canadian data, our clients have been asking for a CrimeRisk database for Canada. CrimeRisk has been trusted by thousands of companies since it’s release, and CrimeRisk Canada will fill the same market void as CrimeRisk. The map below shows a sample of the CrimeRisk Canada database, highlighting a robbery index for Vancouver. We will have a more extensive post about CrimeRisk Canada when the database is available.
Great news Elyse. This kind of data is very helpful in our crime prevention work. Having spent recent time in Sweden where police rarely release geocoded data, we are fortunate to be able to use this data and work with communities to improve liveability! Greg Saville (Cheers to Gary)
