At the end of each month, the AGS team takes a look back at articles and blog posts that we saw this month that stood out to us. Many of these come from our partners, but not all use our data. Here is the round-up from January 2021.
Over on the Carto blog, they posted an interesting article on how to identify consumer packaged goods demand hotspots, which uses AGS consumer expenditure data. The result is a case study on what is hot in food marketing—all things organic, natural, and local.
One of the latest AGS partners, Tango Analytics, released their new predictive analytics package that provides retailers of all sizes access to the most advanced, accurate models to support their real estate decision making.
The team over at Spatial.AI put together their top 20 Geosocial Solutions from 2020, and we have to agree, there was some neat applications put out in 2020 amongst the chaos of the year. Be sure to take a look at the Sites USA/Spatial.AI integration on unemployment and social sentiment, which uses the free AGS unemployment data and Spatial.AI COVID-19 social sentiments.
Our partners over at GIS Planning have made their ZoomProspector Tool available in Spanish, as well as French and English.
Auren Hoffman at SafeGraph examines the concept of “Data-As-A-Service”, and the idea of selling data to data scientists. A great read about how data production is changing, and how data use will change as a result.
