This week, Applied Geographic Solutions is proud to announce that our 2025B data is now available. While all datasets have been updated with the latest data, we have also expanded both our geographic coverage and the analytical depth to some of our datasets. From enhanced health care utilization modeling to entirely new demographic cross-tabulations and the introduction of Mexico data, this release is sure to have something for everyone.
Health Care Utilization Data Update
Our enhanced Health Counts database introduces a more intuitive structure for understanding where and why people seek medical care. As outlined in our recent post, Health Care Utilization Data Update, we’ve refined the classification system to focus on three key questions: where a patient went, why they went (primary condition), and what else was involved (secondary conditions and observations).
These changes streamline the data while preserving clinical richness—allowing you to analyze demand for ambulatory care, ER visits, and hospital discharges with greater clarity and at small-area geography levels.
New Demographic Variables for 2025B
We’ve expanded our estimates and projections dataset to include several powerful new cross-tabulations based on your feedback.
The new tables include:
- Householder age by tenure
- Household income by tenure
- Household income by householder age by tenure
- Median household income by householder age and tenure
These additions help reveal patterns of housing behavior and economic status that were previously hidden within aggregate data. Analysts can now identify, for example, high-income renter markets, older renter segments, or age groups transitioning from ownership to renting—critical for housing, retail, and financial planning decisions.
Mexico Data and Geography Expansion
We’re also expanding southward. This release introduces full demographic and socioeconomic coverage for Mexico, supported by harmonized geographies described in Understanding Mexican Geographies.
AGS combines rural localidades and urban AGEBs into a hybrid “block-group” geography—comparable in granularity to U.S. data—and supports consistent cross-border analysis through a national hexagon grid. From population density to literacy and housing conditions, these datasets will empower cross-market insights from Tijuana to Chiapas.
