In our never-ending quest to provide the highest possible quality and range of demographics, we have a busy year ahead of us. Most of our efforts are focused on continuing to integrate parcel, address, and dwelling level data into our core demographic estimates. Along the way, we will introduce new data and highlight areas where we have achieved significant advances over current industry standards.
Three major focus areas for 2025:
- Parcel and Land Use product releases, available nationwide or regionally in multiple formats or via API, in January. These files will be updated every six months, with some major enhancements to the parcel attributes in the fall of 2025. Land use categorization is highly useful as a means of showing context for trade area maps.
The base estimates data will be enhanced with additional and improved dwelling characteristics, with the addition of several new tables:
-
- Buildings by size of structure
- Buildings by lot size
- # stories
- # bedrooms and bathrooms
- Taxable value
- Sale value
- Neighborhood stability/migration
- Ownership characteristics (corporate owner, non-resident owner, resident owner)
- Expanded and improved Units in Structure table
- Expanded geographic coverage to now include the entire North American mainland – Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The first Mexico release will be in the 3rd quarter of 2025, with annual updates planned. A broad range of demographic characteristics will be available for the current year for administrative, census statistical, and hexagon geometries.
- Completely updated health care demand and vital statistics data, using the latest survey data and using a radically improved methodology that relies on the AGS synthetic population model (an extension of the household model).
